Born in 1923, Carroll Shelby started his journey as a racing driver, conquering tracks and leaving a trail of victory in his wake. However, fate had other plans when a heart condition cut his racing career short. Instead of giving up, Shelby channelled his passion into building cars.
In the 1960s, Shelby founded Shelby American Inc. and went on to create iconic vehicles that would become the stuff of legends. He transformed a humble Ford Mustang into the mighty Shelby GT350 and GT500, injecting them with performance enhancements that made Petrol Heads mortgage their houses.
But Shelby was not just about raw power and speed. He knew that handling and aerodynamics were equally crucial. That's why he joined forces with British automaker AC Cars to create the Cobra – a potent combination of American muscles and British finesse, turning heads and leaving challengers in the dust. It was power, agility, and looks all rolled into one.
