MC12 Socks

With a history that goes back to the Big Bang of racing, Maserati returned in 2004 with the all-conquering MC12. The road-going version is rare not only for a Maserati. It's one of the most exclusive homologation versions of any track-proven champion.

The MC12 (Maserati Corse, 12-cylinder) signalled the trident's return to racing in 2004, after a 37-year hiatus. And what a comeback. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Frank Stevenson, this supercar was developed for the track by Giorgio Ascanelli, quickly becoming the car to beat in the FIA GT Championship. From 2005 to 2010 it was crowned with fourteen titles (and 19 victories): two Manufacturers Cups, five Driver Championships, six Team Championships (uninterrupted since 2005, by the Vitaphone Racing Team) in addition to three absolute victories in the Spa 24 Hours (2005, 2006 and 2008).

The striking homologation version was basically an Enzo chassis and 6.0-litre V12, good for a top speed of 330km/h or 205mph, in a racecar-looking body in stark contrast with a remarkably luxurious cabin.
Of course, the MC12 'Stradale' had one other ace up its sleeve. While each Ferrari's 'mass-produced' Enzo had 399 siblings, only 50 road-going Maserati Corse's were ever built - with another 12 MC12 Versione Corse being built later as an even more extreme track-day variant.

Wash inside out (40ºC/100ºF max). Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean.
