X1 Glamorous Glennis Socks
October 14th, 1947. A bright orange bullet with wings drops from the belly of a B-29 over the Mojave, and Chuck Yeager — flying with two broken ribs he’d told almost nobody about — pushes the Bell X-1 past Mach 1. The sonic boom that rolled across the desert announced a new era. He’d named the plane Glamorous Glennis, after his wife; the colour was pure visibility, the swagger was standard issue. Our X-1 Socks knit that record-breaking orange with details from the world’s first supersonic aircraft. Faster mornings guaranteed — sound barrier sold separately.
80% Combed Cotton, 17% Polyamide, 3% Elastane. We use seamless knitting to create a sock with no stitches. Wash inside out (40ºC/100ºF max). Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean.
